The Australian Motorsport Hall of Fame has created a website to honor its 88 inductees and inspire a new generation of competitors.
www.australianmotorsporthalloffame.com.au went live to coincide with the 2023 Australian Formula One Grand Prix in time to induct four new heroes.
The website gives voice to 122 years of motor sport history across a multitude of disciplines.
The Hall of Fame is the flagship of the Australian Motorsport Council , the peak body for five motorsport federations – motor racing, motor cycling, karting, drag racing and speedway.
The unique website contains video dedications to all its inductees and provides a fascinating insight into motor racing achievement.
It provides enthralling , and entertaining, viewing for enthusiasts and aspiring competitors.
Three world champions , Sir Jack Brabham , Alan Jones, and Mick Doohan , have been elevated to Legend status , headlining a rolling pageant of greats who have been progressively inducted.
To coincide with the launch of the website four additional heroes have been added – Australian Grand Prix winner John Goss OAM , karting and drag racing champions Remo Luciani and Victor Bray , and pioneer racer Joan Richmond.
“The Australian Motorsport Hall of Fame website will be a regularly updated source of information and inspiration , “ Hall of Fame Chair John Smailes said.
“ Feature stories and podcasts will introduce viewers to our motor racing heroes.
“ The website will be a way our heroes can talk to each other.
“ They share a rich history ,and they deserve an outlet where they can be updated on their own activities and continuing achievements.
“ Motorsport is part of the fabric of Australia and its heroes merit special recognition.”
